The Little Rituals That Make Agency Life Fun

Agency life moves fast, but it's the small rituals between deadlines that make it memorable. From coffee breaks and lunchtime sitcoms to chai chats and Pink Wednesdays, here's a glimpse into the everyday moments that bring our culture to life.
Agency life is a bit like a rollercoaster you willingly queue up for every day. One moment you're chasing a deadline, the next you're celebrating a campaign that's finally gone live.
It's fast. It's unpredictable. It's occasionally chaotic.
But somewhere between the brainstorms, client calls, and endless deck revisions, there are little rituals that make it all worthwhile.
Brewing between briefs
A couple of months ago, when work started getting especially hectic, my desk partner and I ordered a coffee pack with an assortment of different flavours.
Every evening, we'd step away from our screens for a few minutes to brew a fresh cup, compare tasting notes like self-proclaimed coffee connoisseurs, and catch up on everything but work.

Lunch with a side of sitcom
There's something oddly therapeutic about watching a sitcom episode in the middle of a workday. For me, it's usually an episode of The Office. Somewhere between Michael Scott's questionable leadership and Dwight Schrute missing social cues, the second half of the day starts feeling a lot more manageable.
The only side effect? The rest of the day you get the Jim Halpert urge to look at the invisible camera every time someone says something absurd.

Movie review Mondays
Mondays at the office are all about catching up on everything everyone watched over the weekend.
As someone who loves movies, this has quietly become one of my favourite traditions. Whether it's recommending a hidden gem, passionately defending a film everyone else disliked, or debating whether a Letterboxd rating makes any sense, there's always a conversation waiting to happen.
The best part is that no two opinions are ever the same.
You walk into the discussion expecting to recommend a movie, and walk out with three more added to your watchlist.
Chai breaks with the team
The chai breaks are where conversations take unexpected turns. Someone brings up the latest news headline, another person introduces a wildly convincing conspiracy theory (Sure, there's a little office gossip sprinkled in too), and before you know it, the entire group is debating topics nobody thought they'd discuss that afternoon.
Getting the window seat to watch the rains
The Unting Zone offers a beautiful view of the street outside, and when it starts pouring, people naturally gravitate towards the windows. They grab a mug of hot chocolate from the pantry, find a cosy corner, and for a few quiet minutes, simply watch the rain. Just the comforting sound of rain tapping against the windows to power you before you are back to business as usual.
On Wednesdays, Ting wears Pink!
During my first couple weeks in the office, I genuinely wondered if my team was twinning every Wednesday and not telling me. Turns out, a bunch of Mean Girls’ fans decided that this should be an office tradition.
Now, Wednesdays are a little brighter. Teams coordinate outfits, people gather for photos, it's one of those wonderfully silly traditions that instantly makes you feel like you're part of something.
Twinning with your colleagues is so fetch! Don’t you agree?
At the end of the day, agency life has never been just about the work. It's about the people you create it with.
The deadlines will always be there, so will the briefs, presentations and brainstorms. But it's these little traditions that turn colleagues into a team.
And maybe that's what makes coming back every morning worth it.
