Engineering the digital infrastructure of a global energy brand

Question
How do you build a digital platform that matches the scale, precision, and authority of a global intelligence brand?
Answer
The same way great research is built, with structured thinking, attention to detail, and an understanding that every decision compounds into the final outcome.
For over a decade, Aurora Energy Research has stood at the centre of some of the world’s most consequential energy decisions. Entrusted by investors, developers, utilities, and policymakers, across 32+ major markets globally, they have been instrumental in delivering the intelligence that has shaped policy.
However, the existing platform had not kept pace with the scale of what Aurora had grown into. The global footprint went unrepresented. Audience segments had no defined journey. Offerings that warranted their own presence were competing for space on pages that made navigation unintuitive. A proprietary platform central to Aurora's proposition had no digital home. The ask therefore wasn't about building credibility. It was about building a platform that could finally do Aurora justice.
Our goal was to engineer a solution with a methodology as rigorous as Aurora's own. Every audience segment was identified and given its own logic. Every offering was restructured for clarity without sacrificing depth of their expertise. Every market was given its own presence. And every layer of the platform, architecture, content, experience, and technology, was built to work as one coherent, scalable system.
The thinking behind the build
A platform of this scale demanded more than good design. It demanded disciplined thinking at every layer. From discovery to deployment, every decision was held to the same standard of rigour Aurora's research is known for.
User behaviour, friction points, and decision pathways were mapped through deep stakeholder research before any design began. The AIDA framework structured the entire platform's logic ensuring every flow moves users from awareness to action with speed and clarity.
Thirty-two country pages were built as high-impact lead-generation hubs, each tailored to its regional audience, each modular in structure. Every interaction, from global map hover states to CTA animations, was engineered to guide users instinctively toward the next decision.
A headless Next.js and WordPress architecture, powered by WPGraphQL and Redis caching, delivers near-instant load times across geographies. Role-based access and SSO enable secure multi-office collaboration with full SEO continuity and scalable infrastructure at its core.
