Overview
Roar is a bold, boutique architecture and interior design studio based in Dubai. Founded in 2013, the brand is known for crafting immersive spatial experiences that combine fearless creativity with deep empathy.
Their work reflects their philosophy of being wild at heart and empathetic in action. Over the years, Roar has built an award-winning portfolio across the Middle East and beyond. Yet, their online presence did not fully reflect the energy, emotion, and creativity of their work.
Objective
Roar approached ting to redesign their digital presence with a website that would:
- Showcase the studio’s portfolio in a bold and immersive way
- Capture Roar’s unique balance of creativity and thoughtfulness: 50% wild, 50% tame, 100% empathetic
- Deliver a digital experience that mirrored their approach to interiors: intuitive, layered, and full of character
Instead of a standard portfolio site, ting created an interactive storytelling experience where design and motion worked together to guide users through the content.
Solution
Multi-Directional Navigation
Inspired by Arabic right-to-left reading, the website features scroll-based navigation that allows fluid, multi-directional movement and reflects Roar’s cultural roots and design style.
Immersive Experience
Subtle parallax effects and on-scroll animations add depth and motion to the portfolio, creating an interactive visual journey for visitors.
Whimsical Identity
Artistic imagery and abstract motifs, including wildcats, bring out the brand’s playful side while keeping the design sophisticated and visually appealing.
Impact
The new website does more than showcase Roar’s work.
It lets visitors experience it. It highlights the studio’s untamed creativity, cultural depth, and empathetic approach to space, creating a digital platform that truly roars.
